The additional driver must show a valid driving licence and ID document, and must be entered into the contract before driving. This is useful for longer routes, for example Podgorica-Durmitor, Budva-Dubrovnik, Kotor-Lovcen or visiting several cities in one day.

Select a child seat or booster only from the extras available with the specific car. The selected extra and its price enter the total quote before confirmation.

Yes, you can choose pickup directly at TGD or TIV airports. Tivat is especially busy during summer because of arrivals to the coast, while Podgorica is practical for routes towards Lake Skadar, the north, Niksic, Kolasin and the coast via Sozina.

Cross a border only with the provider’s approval and documents for every planned country. If selected while booking, the option’s mandatory charge is already in the total offer price.

Fuel policy varies by car. Read it on the individual offer, record the level at collection and return the car according to the agreed rule.

Most roads do not require vignettes, but some costs are paid separately. The Sozina tunnel is paid on the route between Podgorica and Bar, and the Kamenari-Lepetane ferry is used if you want to shorten the drive through Boka Bay between Herceg Novi, Tivat and Kotor.

Follow local signs, because speed limits often change between settlements, main roads and mountain sections. Be especially careful on the coast during summer, through inhabited places in Boka Bay and on the serpentines towards Lovcen, where slower driving is often more realistic than the posted speed limit.

Parking fines, speeding, illegal stopping or other traffic violations are paid by the driver. This is especially important in tourist zones of Budva, Kotor and Tivat, on beaches, around airports and in city parking zones where checks are more frequent during the season.

Petrol and diesel are widely available on main routes, in cities and near airports. Before longer routes towards Durmitor, Prokletije, Lake Skadar or smaller places, it is better to refuel at larger stations and check the fuel type in the contract.

The Kamenari-Lepetane ferry is often used to shorten the route between Herceg Novi, Tivat, Kotor and Budva. It is usually allowed, but check the car-hire terms and keep the ticket, especially if you return the vehicle at another location.

In summer, coastal roads through Budva, Kotor, Tivat and Herceg Novi cause the most delays, while in winter conditions can be more demanding towards Kolasin, Zabljak and the mountains. Plan extra time for serpentines, border crossings, the ferry, tunnels and popular viewpoints.

Keep your last fuel receipt until the vehicle return is complete, especially if the partner requires it. Photos of the fuel gauge at pickup and return help confirm compliance with the agreed fuel policy.
