01Waterfront walks, swimming and a movie night
Walk along the waterfront toward the marina
Follow King Nikola Promenade along the sea toward the public space in front of the marina. The I Love Bar sign is at the beginning of the promenade and Kilometer Zero is on the pedestrian island in front of the marina, so either can mark the start or end of your outing. Walk along the shore between them and choose where to pause, adapting the walk to the time you have.
At the marina, the open sea view gives way to moorings and boats. Walk along the publicly accessible area beside them, then return along the promenade. For visits to the palace and other waterfront buildings, see Bar's sights. King Nikola Promenade, waterfront area on Google Maps.
Go swimming at Zukotrlica
At Zukotrlica, you can spend part of the day swimming and resting by the sea without heading to a cove outside town. The beach is pebbly, so water shoes can make walking over the stones more comfortable. You decide how long to swim and rest, and its location along the town's waterfront lets you combine beach time with a walk.
The Bar Tourist Organization lists free beach access and sun loungers and umbrellas for rent. Check rental prices on site, as free beach access does not include the equipment. Zukotrlica, beach area on Google Maps.
Choose a movie at the Cultural Center's Winter Stage
For a movie night, choose a screening in the indoor hall at the Winter Stage of the Vladimir Popovic Spanac Cultural Center. One example from the current schedule is Veriti, a psychological thriller and drama based on Colleen Hoover's novel. A writer takes on an assignment at the Crawford family estate and discovers autobiographical notes that raise questions about truth and manipulation.
The Cultural Center has announced Veriti for October 10, 2026 at 18:00 and October 11 at 21:00, with tickets priced at €4. These times and the announced price apply to those screenings. For another date, choose a title from the current schedule, which also names the stage. The indoor Winter Stage and the Summer Stage are different spaces, so head to the location named for your screening. Vladimir Popovic Spanac Cultural Center, cinema on Google Maps.
02Olive oil tasting at Kuca maslina
Taste olive oil at Kuca maslina
An olive oil tasting at Kuca maslina in Stari Bar gives you a chance to try the oils your host presents one by one and compare their aromas and flavors. Ask about the origins of the products as you taste them: you'll get to know Bar's olive-growing tradition through what is produced today and a conversation with your host.
Kuca maslina lists tastings and tourist visits among its activities. On its official website, you can send a request with your date, number of visitors and a note. Specify that you want a tasting and confirm what it includes, its price and duration before arriving. The address is Ulica 9. januara 211A, Stari Bar. A visit to the Old Olive Tree at Mirovica is a separate venue option on the form, so that visit needs its own arrangement. Kuca maslina building in Stari Bar on Google Maps.
03Canyoning and self-guided kayaking
Go canyoning in Rikavac with a guide
Making your way through Rikavac involves walking, swimming and rope descents through water and rocky terrain. On the guided program, you use equipment to navigate the obstacles, with jumps and slides that the guide adapts to the conditions.
Wild Montenegro advertises the program from April to October, with swimming skills and suitable physical fitness required. A guide, equipment and an introductory briefing are included. Your departure is confirmed by email, and weather conditions can delay or cancel it. Before fitting canyoning into your day, ask the operator to confirm the duration of the whole outing, the price, transportation and the meeting place. Rikavac Canyon area on Google Maps.
Paddle from Virpazar through the lake channels
From Virpazar, you paddle into lake channels among the vegetation, with views opening toward the hills on wider stretches of water. You paddle yourself and decide how often and how long to stop.
Kingfisher's three-hour self-guided program includes a kayak, paddles, life jackets, waterproof bags, a map, instructions and a recommended route before departure, with assistance available on call. A guide does not accompany you on the water. The national park fee is included in this specific package. Check in at the Kingfisher desk beside the central bridge in Virpazar 30 minutes before departure.
The journey between Bar and Virpazar and check-in at the desk are separate from the three hours of paddling. The outing depends on the weather and a confirmed booking, so choose a recommended route before departure that allows you to return the kayak at the arranged time.
