Walk along the seafront on the Pet Danica promenade
Pet Danica connects the coastal part of Herceg Novi, so you can extend your walk toward Topla and Igalo or toward Savina and Meljine. At Skver, you walk past the city harbor and its boats, then continue past swimming spots and coastal neighborhoods.
For a shorter outing, you can stay around Skver and return along the same stretch of waterfront, while walking toward Igalo or Meljine makes the route longer. Walking time depends on the distance you choose, your stops and the return journey. Allow extra time for swimming, a meal or visits to the fortresses. You can join the promenade from the coastal neighborhood where you are staying, while access from streets higher up in town may involve stairs. Pet Danica promenade on Google Maps.
See a play at Dvorana Park
At Dvorana Park, you can spend an evening at the theater in an indoor hall, with a performance from the Herceg Fest program. Kradja, prekradja i nekradja is announced for October 29, 2026 at 20:00. Written and directed by Vida Ognjenovic, it is a co-production of Grad Teatar Budva and Podgorica City Theater. The announcement lists a ticket price of €15.
The play draws on Ljubisa's short story "Kradja i prekradja zvona." It raises the question of whether the characters stole the bell or regard it as their own, with the action unfolding through a battle of wits and a search for justifications. Jaksa Probigor, one of the characters discussed by actor Emir Catovic, interprets moral dilemmas in ways that suit those who find his explanations convenient. The humor in these arguments explores the relationship between personal interests and the community.
For tickets and possible changes to the date or time, follow Herceg Fest's current announcement. The performance length is not published, so confirm when it ends before planning your return. The hall is on Njegoseva Street, at Njegoseva bb. Dvorana Park on Google Maps.

Take a boat trip toward the Blue Cave
The Petar excursion toward the Blue Cave combines a boat trip along Lustica with a view of the cave and a swimming stop. In the current program description, the boat approaches the cave entrance for sightseeing, while swimming is planned in a cove beyond the cave. Views of Mamula and the former submarine tunnel near Rose are part of the sightseeing trip. The program does not promise a landing on Mamula or swimming inside the cave.
The operator lists a duration of two hours and a price of €30 per person. That is the time spent on the boat excursion, to which you add travel to the harbor and boarding arrangements. Skver is one of the published departure points. The offer and published timetable do not confirm departures every day or throughout the year, so before booking, agree on the date, exact berth and which parts of the trip can go ahead in that day’s sea conditions. Try an introductory scuba dive with an instructor
Adriatic Blue at Skver offers introductory scuba diving for beginners who want to explore underwater with diving equipment. In shallow water, you learn basic procedures and underwater hand signals with an instructor. These initial exercises prepare you for your first dive and help you follow the instructor's directions when you cannot speak.
The club lists a price of €80 for boat-based Discovery Scuba Diving, with equipment included. An introductory shore dive is offered as a separate service. The offer does not state the total duration, so when booking with the club, agree on the program, dive location, participation requirements and time needed for preparation and the outing. Learn to sail in a beginner lesson
In the Montenegro Wild Boat beginner course, you take part in handling the sailboat. The program on the UFO 28 yacht combines basic concepts and safety on the water with adjusting the sails, maneuvering, and anchoring and mooring exercises. With an instructor, the practical work gives you a feel for how sail position and boat handling affect movement.
The one-day course has a published time of 08:00-12:00 and a group of up to six participants. Allow time for travel and the agreed preparation in addition to those four hours. The program starts near Skver harbor, and the organizer confirms the exact berth, date and whether it can go ahead. Ask for a price based on your number of participants and chosen program. 03A marked walk on Orjen
Follow the marked trail from Vrbanj toward Tresnja
For an outing inland, our choice is the Vrbanj-Tresnja trail in Orjen Nature Park. It leads to a resting area and viewpoint on Tresnja hill, giving the walk a destination for a break before you return. The park operator includes it among the marked routes suitable for walking. Trails branch off toward other destinations at Tresnja, so continuing toward Subra or the summit of Orjen requires a separate plan.
Reach Vrbanj by road, allowing for the drive and return separately from the walk. The Vrbanj-Tresnja route description does not give its length or duration. Ask the park operator about the specific approach, the condition of the trail markings and the estimated time for the stretch you plan to walk. The map marks the settlement of Vrbanj, so you need to arrange the trail starting point and a place to leave your car separately. Bring water and footwear for mountain terrain, and choose the day according to the weather. Vrbanj, the approach to the walk toward Tresnja on Google Maps.
04Planning your stay and other excursions
The Herceg Novi itineraries let you combine activities into a schedule for several days. The published three-day plan is intended for the warmer part of the year and includes Zalo and Lalovina, the Old Town, Savina and the Staza zdravlja trail on Orjen, with time for transportation, meals, rest and a return to the same base.
Beyond the activities described here, the guides to drives from Budva offer excursions to Kotor and Perast, Cetinje and Lovcen, Ostrog and Lake Skadar. Each starts in Budva and explains the stops and travel time, so you can use them to continue your trip from that base.
