Waterfront walks, recreation and kayaking

Things to do in Igalo

For an outing at your own pace, walk along the Igalo waterfront, pausing by the sea and heading back whenever you choose. A match on the clay courts at the Sports Center or a game of bowling at the Institute offers another way to spend time with a partner or friends. For time on the water, the guided kayak program follows the Igalo coast toward Njivice. You arrange to meet the organizer in the Zalo area of Herceg Novi.

The overview compares the experience, time and participation requirements, and the two maps separate places in Igalo from the kayaking area in Herceg Novi. 01
Walking along the Igalo waterfront

Walk along Obala Nikole Kovacevica

The Igalo waterfront and illuminated coast in the evening

Walk along Obala Nikole Kovacevica by the sea, past swimming spots and outdoor terraces, with views across the bay. A pause on the waterfront or a meal can be part of the same walk, before you continue along the coast when you choose.

Choose a stretch based on where you join the waterfront, then return the same way. For a longer walk, the connection to Pet Danica Promenade at the eastern end leads toward Topla and Herceg Novi. Continuing also adds to the walk back to Igalo, so the time depends on your chosen stretch and stops. For a meal during your outing, the guide to where to eat in Igalo provides dish recommendations and addresses. Igalo waterfront on Google Maps.

02
Tennis and bowling

Tennis is played on the outdoor courts at Igalo Sports Center, while the bowling alley belongs to the Institute. These are two different complexes with separate reservations.

Recreational tennis at Igalo Sports Center

Igalo Sports Center welcomes recreational players who want a match during their stay. Its three outdoor clay courts have LED lighting, so you can also request an evening slot.

Arrange a reservation through Igalo Sports Center, at II Dalmatinske brigade. When you book, confirm the price, rental length and equipment options. The published offer does not state that rackets, balls or a coach are included, so clarify this before heading to the court. Igalo Sports Center, tennis on Google Maps.

A game of bowling at the Igalo Institute

Arrange a game of bowling with friends at the sports and recreation center in Phase II of the Igalo Institute. The Institute also lists billiards in the same recreational offer as another game to play during your stay.

Recreation at the Institute is offered to individuals and groups. For bowling, confirm the time, price and how long you can play, as well as the entrance to the bowling area. The Institute lists its address as Sava Ilica 5. Igalo Institute, Phase II and bowling on Google Maps.

03
Kayaking along the coast and toward Njivice

Guided kayaking along Igalo and toward Njivice

In the guided Igalo-Njivice kayak program, you paddle along the coast of Herceg Novi and Igalo, with a guide accompanying the group. From the water, you see the swimming areas along the coast, then stop in Njivice on the opposite shore of the bay to swim and snorkel.

Kayak Herceg Novi publishes a duration of 2.5 to 3 hours and a price of €40 per person for this program. Its guided tours include kayaking equipment, dry bags for small items and a guide, and no previous kayaking experience is required. Arrange a date and confirm whether the program can run during your stay.

The Tourist Organization lists this kayaking offer at Zalo Beach by Skver in Herceg Novi. You travel to that area from Igalo, while the organizer confirms the exact meeting point. Allow for travel to Zalo and back to your accommodation as part of the whole outing. When booking, clarify whether preparation is included in the stated program duration. Questions before arranging an outing

Is the waterfront promenade completely free of vehicles?

Vehicle access along Pet Danica Promenade is restricted, but there are exceptions for residents and deliveries. According to the Municipality of Herceg Novi notice, delivery vehicles and people with property along the promenade have access from 5 to 9 a.m. Residents with the appropriate cards can also access it after 9 a.m.

How far ahead should we arrange a guided kayak outing?

Kayak Herceg Novi asks for guided tours to be booked a few days ahead. If you want the Igalo-Njivice program described here, contact the operator about your travel dates before arriving at Zalo.

Can we choose between one tandem kayak and two separate kayaks?

Kayak Herceg Novi lists both single and tandem kayaks. When booking an outing for two, say whether you want to share a kayak or use two separate ones, and ask them to confirm the equipment available for that time.
