Where to park in Igalo
Parking in Igalo depends on the season and whether you choose a street space or a gated parking lot. In winter, some marked street spaces are free, while Parking Igalo has lower hourly and daily prices than in summer. Street-parking SMS payments are unavailable with a foreign SIM card, so a digital ticket from a marked sales outlet is the alternative.

Gated parking in Igalo is paid for using an entry ticket, while street parking uses your license plate number and the zone color. A street-parking day ticket therefore does not cover a stay in a gated lot.

01Parking Igalo on Norveska Street
For a destination on Norveska Street, choose Parking Igalo if you want a gated parking lot with payment at a self-service machine. Street-parking SMS is not a payment method for this lot.
Use the ticket collected at the entrance rather than a street-parking ticket for a zone color. Keep it for payment and exit, and pay for parking at the self-service machine before heading to the exit barrier. Available payment methods depend on the location and are shown on the machine.
From October 1 to May 31, an hour in the lot costs €0.60 and a 24-hour day ticket costs €4. In the summer period from June 1 to September 30, an hour costs €1 and a day ticket costs €6. The parking lot is open 24 hours a day.
02Street parking on Sava Ilica
For Ribarska Street and the southern entrance to the Dr Simo Milosevic Institute, the street-parking option is the marked spaces on the south side of Sava Ilica.
Spaces 1-58 between Ribarska Street and the Institute's southern entrance belong to Zone III, the yellow zone. The winter exemption covers these marked spaces.
From October 1 to May 31, parking is free with no time limit. From June 1 to September 30, one hour in the yellow zone costs €0.70.
Street zones and payment
| Zone | Per hour - winter | Regular street-parking limit | SMS for one hour |
|---|---|---|---|
| Purple | €1.50 | 1 hour | 14516 |
| I red | €1.00 | No time limit | 14510 |
| II blue | €0.80 | No time limit | 14511 |
| III yellow | €0.60 | No time limit | 14512 |
Paid street zones charge from Monday to Saturday, from 7 am to 5 pm in the purple zone and from 7 am to 9 pm in the red, blue and yellow zones. The winter period runs from October 1 to May 31, and street zones are free on Sundays. Garages and gated lots have their own access rules.
To pay by SMS, enter your license plate number in Latin letters exactly as shown on the plate, without spaces or other characters, and send it to the number for your zone in the table. One message buys one hour. Wait for a reply confirming a successful payment, the vehicle, zone and validity period. If no confirmation arrives or the payment fails, buy a digital ticket from a marked sales outlet. You have 15 minutes after parking to buy a ticket.
If the zone allows more time, send another message before the previous hour expires. The purple zone allows one hour with no extension. Once you reach the maximum stay, move the car. You may park again after 60 minutes. There is no time limit in the red, blue and yellow zones. There is no grace period after a paid ticket expires.
If your phone number cannot use the local SMS service, buy a digital ticket from a marked sales outlet. SMS payment works only with numbers from Montenegrin mobile operators, not with a foreign number or while roaming. Give the seller your license plate number, zone color and intended duration. The ticket becomes active as soon as the details are entered. Keep the slip and receipt after paying.
Day ticket
The winter day ticket costs €8 for Zone I red, €6 for Zone II blue and €4 for Zone III yellow. It covers the purchased calendar day during charging hours. The hourly SMS numbers in this table buy one hour. To buy a day ticket, send your license plate number without spaces or other characters to 14517 for red, 14518 for blue or 14513 for yellow, and wait for confirmation. You can also buy a digital ticket from a marked sales outlet. It is not valid in the purple zone, a garage or a gated parking lot.

Parking charges, penalty notices and towing
Parking servis issues a daily surcharge ticket, not a penalty notice. It costs €15 for 24 hours. Pay within eight days of issue using the instructions on the ticket to receive a 33.33% discount.
The legal fine for parking in a prohibited place or obstructing traffic ranges from €100 to €300. A penalty notice imposes the minimum amount in that range. It is separate from a charge for unpaid zone parking.
Once a towing intervention begins, it costs €30. Moving the vehicle to the depot costs €30, and storage costs €5 per day. The daily surcharge ticket is also payable when the towing service intervenes. Removal costs are separate from the traffic fine.
Paying a penalty notice
If you accept responsibility, the regular procedure allows you to pay half the fine within eight days of accepting the notice. A €100 penalty would therefore cost €50.
An exception applies to a person without permanent or temporary residence in Montenegro, or someone leaving the country, when the competent authority has reasonable grounds to suspect that they will evade enforcement. In that case, two-thirds of the fine must be paid without delay. Use the amount and payment instructions on your own notice.
If your car is missing, check with Parking servis whether it was towed. Parking servis has published Herceg Novi Parking Service depot, Druge Dalmatinske, Igalo as the pickup location. Before going there, call 19800 to confirm where your car is. The vehicle-removal charge is paid on the spot when you collect it.

Igalo parking FAQs
Do I need to leave a digital parking ticket in the car?
A digital ticket is linked to your license plate number and is immediately visible in the enforcement system, so you do not need to leave paper in the car.
What if my digital ticket has the wrong license plate number?
A ticket with the wrong plate number is not valid for your vehicle. Check the details on the slip immediately and report any error to the employee at the sales outlet, as it cannot be corrected later.
When can I contact the Parking Service office in winter?
In winter, the office and call center are open Monday to Friday from 8 am to 2 pm, with a break from 11 to 11:30 am. The general contact number is 19929.
