01Petrovac's promenade and nearby beaches
A walk along Petrovac's promenade to the harbour by Kastio

Petrovac's promenade runs along the town beach to the small harbour below Kastio. The sea and reddish sand are on one side of the promenade, with houses, cafes and restaurants along the other. From the promenade, you can see the islets of Katic and Sveta Nedjelja, while Kastio's walls stand above the harbour at the end of the bay.
For a family outing, you can walk part of the promenade or combine the walk with time on the town beach. Read about the history of the fortification and other local sites in Petrovac's attractions guide. Kastio, the harbour landmark, on Google Maps.
Swimming and playing in the sand at Lucice

At Lucice, you can swim in a smaller bay between two headlands covered with pines and cypresses. The beach is about 220 metres long, with fine sand and a sandy seabed, so you can spend time playing on the shore as well as swimming. With less development directly behind the beach than along the town promenade, the cove has a different setting from the beach beside the houses and hotels in central Petrovac. Lucice on Google Maps.
Swimming at Buljarica's long beach

Buljarica has 2,250 metres of coast in a broad bay south of Petrovac, towards Bar. Most of the beach is pebbly and rocky, with the sandy section closer to Petrovac. A family looking to play in the sand can choose that section, while the wider beach also offers a longer stretch for walking by the sea.
The broad Buljarica field lies behind the beach, where there are also a campsite, cafes and restaurants. You can combine a family beach visit with a meal nearby. Buljarica on Google Maps.

Questions about family trips from Petrovac
Can we get to Virpazar without a car?
Virpazar has train and bus connections. For a trip from Petrovac, match your connections to Virpazar and your return journey to the boat's schedule, including any transfers. Transport to Virpazar is arranged separately from the short boat trip.
Can we book the short Moraca tour as a private trip?
The selected Kingfisher tour lasting an hour and a half is a shared tour with no private option. If you want a boat just for your family, you need to choose a different programme, which may have a different route, duration and price.
Is there a toilet on the boat for the short trip from Virpazar?
Kingfisher's shorter tours use smaller boats that may not have a toilet. If a toilet is important for your trip with children, confirm whether the boat for your departure has one.
