Getting from the airport to Bar

This section compares the bus, train, taxi and car rental options for reaching Bar from TGD. Buses and taxis start beside the terminal, while the train requires a walk to the nearby railway station. Here you can make a first choice between them, with tickets, stations and departures covered in the full transport details.

Bus to Bar Bus Station

The bus to Bar leaves in front of the TGD terminal, so this route does not require a trip into Podgorica first. It arrives at Bar Bus Station in the southern part of town, with local transport continuing to the waterfront, Topolica or Susanj. Some departures are more than four hours apart, making the next departure time more important than the relatively short ride itself.

Train to Bar Railway Station

The train from Aerodrom station goes directly to Bar, without a change in Podgorica. The station is about a 1.3-kilometre walk from the terminal, and the railway station in Bar is beside the bus station. The lower fare comes with walking and waiting at a small station, worth considering before leaving the terminal with larger bags.

Taxi transport from the airport

Zeta Taxi offers a direct transfer from TGD to Bar, without going through the town bus or railway station. For trips within Bar and the return to the airport, local services Star Taxi and Euro Taxi have contacts in the practical information guide.

TGD is in the municipality of Zeta, where a Podgorica taxi licence alone does not authorise airport passenger pick-up. When booking another service for your arrival, ask it to confirm that it can collect passengers at TGD.

Car rental at the airport

A car collected at TGD connects the journey to Bar with trips to Stari Bar, Lake Skadar and nearby coastal towns. Rental offers show the vehicles available for your dates and the terms for airport pick-up. Alongside the car booking, a stay in town also needs a place to park it.

Details and recommendations for your arrival

The transport and parking section covers departure and arrival points, tickets and timetables for both directions. Transport recommendation connects car rental with a stay in Bar and gives details of a direct taxi transfer from TGD.

02

Returning from Bar to the airport

The return from Bar to TGD runs through Sozina, with a direct drive of around 50 minutes. Buses leave from the town station, while trains end at Aerodrom station with a walk to the terminal still to follow. This section connects that journey with the airport arrival deadline, while return tickets and departures are covered in the shared transport details.

When to arrive at TGD

Arrive at the TGD terminal at least two hours before the scheduled departure. The journey from Bar, parking and returning a rental car all come before that deadline. If your airline requires an earlier arrival, follow its deadline and arrange the vehicle return time with the rental agency.

During summer crowds, access to the terminal may be temporarily restricted according to the start of check-in and the number of people in the hall. Passengers arriving much earlier may have to wait outside under this arrangement. Accompanying visitors also remain outside unless a passenger needs assistance.

Returning by public transport or car

The return bus brings you to the TGD terminal, while the train leaves an 18-minute walk from Aerodrom station. Add that walk to the journey from Bar, along with possible train delays. Star Taxi and Euro Taxi have local contacts for a direct return, with airport transfers booked for your address and flight time. For a rental car, the agency determines the return location, particularly if your trip ends with a flight from Tivat.

Transport details for the return to the airport

In transport and parking you can open the Bar-TGD and Bar-Aerodrom departures, with the onward connection to the terminal explained. Transport recommendation gives direct transfer contacts and the arrangements to connect with returning a rental car.

03

Buses, trains and parking

Available transport to Bar

Buses and trains from the TGD area go directly to Bar, but start at different places. This section covers access to those stations, tickets and departures in both directions, keeping walking, waiting and the ride itself separate. TGD parking follows the transport details, for meeting passengers or leaving a car during a trip.

Where buses and trains arrive in Bar

Bar Bus Station and Bar Railway Station are beside each other in the southern part of town. Arrival at these stations is not arrival at the waterfront or in Susanj, so a local taxi can cover the onward trip to those areas. Star Taxi and Euro Taxi have contacts in the practical information guide, and both town stations can be opened directly on the map.

Bus - from the TGD terminal to Bar

The bus to Bar leaves from the station in front of the terminal, in the bus area. Tickets can be purchased on the bus or through BusTicket4.me. The departure is beside the terminal, without a trip to a separate town station.

Bus station in front of the TGD terminal

A one-way TGD-Bar bus ticket costs €10 per passenger. The shorter ride to Bar Bus Station takes around 54 minutes. This is a direct bus connection without a change in Podgorica, and the comparison time covers the ride without waiting for departure.

Zejdin and Express Tours connect TGD with Bar. Some departures are more than four hours apart, with the next service shown in the TGD-Bar departures. For the other direction, Bar-TGD departures leave from Bar Bus Station.

On the return journey, the bus leaves the town station in Bar and arrives outside the TGD terminal. The shorter return ride takes around 58 minutes. The timetable arrival can therefore be compared directly with the airport arrival deadline, without an additional walk from the railway station.

Train - from Aerodrom station to Bar

Aerodrom is a small station with basic waiting facilities. Delays occur on this line, so the ticket price and scheduled 51-minute ride do not always describe the whole journey. Those conditions matter particularly on the return for a flight, when the walk to the terminal still follows the train.

For the return, tickets at the Bar Railway Station counter cost the regular fare of €2.60. Buying on the train when departing from Bar adds €1 to that fare. The shorter ride to Aerodrom station takes 51 minutes, followed again by an approximately 18-minute walk to the terminal.

Parking at Podgorica Airport

Parking at TGD costs €3 per started hour or €10 per day. A lost ticket costs €30. Those prices cover leaving a car beside the terminal in Podgorica, while town parking in Bar is covered in a separate guide.
