A hire price, security deposit and damage excess are separate amounts. The agreement and inspection record should make the charges, insurance cover and vehicle condition clear.
Add scratches, dents and damage to windows or wheels to the inspection record before departure. Include wider photographs identifying their position on the car.

Via Njegusi, the mountain road descends to Kotor. The main road to Budva reaches the coast, while Rijeka Crnojevica sits in the lake part of Cetinje municipality, outside the town centre.
Useful car hire decisions
Keep the car parked while visiting central museums. Match the hire period to Lovcen or lake outings, with parking arranged at your accommodation.
Museums and days out
The Biljarda courtyard houses a large relief map of Montenegro. Its mountains, valleys and parts of neighbouring countries offer a geographical perspective alongside the museum collections.
The old foreign legations remain evidence of Cetinje’s diplomatic role. Many buildings now house other institutions, so viewing their facades should not be mistaken for museum access.
The National Museum comprises collections at different addresses, including King Nikola’s Palace, the Biljarda and Government House. Njegos’s birthplace is in Njegusi, while his mausoleum is on Lovcen, beyond the town centre.
Individual and combined National Museum tickets cover different collections. Cetinje Monastery and Lipa Cave are not automatically covered by a museum ticket.
King Nikola’s Palace, Biljarda and the Art Museum in Government House offer indoor displays, with walks between buildings. The Historical Museum is currently closed to visitors. Rain can also reduce visibility on the mountain road to Lovcen.
It lies on Jezerski Vrh outside Cetinje, reached on a separate mountain road. Steps form the last part of the approach, rather than an extension of a town-centre stroll.
Entry is on a guided tour. The cave lies outside town, so arrival at the car park needs to match the departure time. It stays cold underground even during summer.
Intercity services connect Cetinje with Podgorica and Budva. They do not provide the onward journey to the mausoleum, Njegusi or Lipa Cave. That needs separate transport.
