Street zones and payment
| Zone | Per hour or part of an hour | Usual on-street maximum stay | SMS for one hour |
|---|---|---|---|
| Zone I | 0.60 € | 1 hour | 14551 |
| Zone II | 0.50 € | 2 hours | 14552 |
| Zone III | 0.40 € | 3 hours | 14553 |
On-street parking charges apply from 7 am until midnight on weekdays and Saturdays. Garages and barrier-controlled car parks operate their own access arrangements.
For SMS payment, type the vehicle registration number without spaces or other characters, then send it to the zone number shown in the table. Each message purchases one hour. Check the reply for confirmation of payment, the zone and the expiry time. If you receive no confirmation or a failed-payment message, buy a ticket at a parking meter or marked sales point instead.
You can purchase another hour before the current one expires if the zone still allows more time. At the maximum stay, remove the car. A further payment for that zone will be refused for the following half-hour.
If your phone number does not support local SMS payment, choose the zone and permitted parking time at a meter, insert coins and collect the ticket. Display it behind the windscreen. You can also buy a ticket for the selected zone through the Parking servis app, or an hourly ticket at a marked sales point.
Day ticket
A €1.50 day ticket is available only for bays in Zones II and III with an additional sign. The usual hourly SMS payment does not buy a day ticket. Ask Parking servis how to pay for a day ticket by calling 020 652 506.
Parking charges, penalty notices and vehicle towing
The charge issued by Parking servis is separate from a traffic penalty notice. It is €2.60 in Zone I, €2.50 in Zone II and €2.40 in Zone III. Follow the instructions on the charge and pay within eight days of issue. Outstanding charges can be checked on the Parking servis website.
The statutory fine for prohibited parking or obstructing traffic is €100-€300. A penalty notice specifies the minimum sum in this range. This fine is distinct from the parking charge for an unpaid street-zone ticket.
Loading and unloading are €30, transport is €30, and up to 24 hours of storage is €5. A further €5 is charged for each subsequent 24 hours in storage. Vehicle removal costs are payable separately from the traffic fine.
Paying a penalty notice
Under the usual procedure, accepting responsibility allows payment of half the fine within eight days of accepting the notice. For a €100 notice, the reduced amount is €50.
There is an exception for someone with no permanent or temporary residence in Montenegro, or someone leaving the country, if the competent authority reasonably suspects that enforcement will be evaded. In those circumstances, two-thirds of the fine is payable without delay. Follow the sum and payment details on the notice issued to you.
If you cannot find the car, use the Parking servis app to check whether it has been towed. Before collecting it, call 067 177 758 to confirm whether it is at the collection site on Mitra Bakica Street b.b., beside the Petrol filling station.
